Sports Cardiology B.C., a Vancouver Coastal Health Program, is currently conducting research focusing on testing young competitive athletes (aged 12-35) for cardiovascular disorder that can lead to sudden cardiac death. These events are rare, yet tragic occurrences. The purpose of the research is to get an understanding of the prevalence of these disorders in the local population (BC) as a study like this has never been conducted in Canada.
This weekend members of the RRFC lent a helping hand to a fellow Richmond organization - the Friends of the Richmond Public Library. As you can imagine, running the biggest book sale in the city takes a lot of hard work and effort, especially to tear it all down. Luckily, the RRFC was able provide the appropriate muscle to help out the weary volunteers.
The RRFC & FoL would like to thank Geoff Girling, Bair Knowles, Lucas Pasczek, Alex Brown, Matt Carmen, and Cam Knowles for volunteering their time towards such a great community cause.
